Camels soar past Eagles on the road, 5-1

DURHAM, N.C. -- The Fighting Camels earned their third win of the season as they defeated the N.C. Central Eagles on the road, 5-1, Saturday afternoon at the Dr. James W. Younge Tennis Courts.

The match began with doubles play as Lea Cutura and Nina Asanin earned a quick doubles win on court three over Jeremic/Pena, 6-2. Alexandra Andrivot and Isabel Boada clinched the point for CU with a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles over Cnossen/Rogers, 6-4. Pauline Roustan and Alexandra Nicoara's doubles match was tied at 5-5, but went unfinished.

Campbell's success continued in singles play as Andrivot picked up her second-straight singles win on court one, defeating Frida Cnossen 6-1, 6-3. Pauline Roustan earned the next singles victory for CU, 6-3, 6-2 over NCCU's Lynsey Cover. Asanin clinched the win for the Fighting Camels as the Serbia native won on court five, 6-1, 6-2 over Tamara Jeremic. Lea Cutura earned the final win of the day, forcing a third set a taking her match (7) 6-7, 6-2, 6-2.

The win marks the end of a four-match losing skid for the Camels. Up next, the Camels will begin Big South play as they visit Charleston Southern next week.
