Women's tennis set for Virginia road trip

BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- The Fighting Camels (4-7, 1-2 BSC) are set for two road matches in Virginia this weekend. CU will visit Big South foe Longwood on Friday, March 10 at 10 a.m., then the Camels will head to Richmond to take on the Richmond Spiders on Saturday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m.

Campbell is coming off a narrow defeat at home against the UNC Asheville Bulldogs, 4-3. Alexandra Andrivot, Alexandra Nicoara and Isabel Boada all earned singles wins to tally Campbell's points in that match. Andrivot and Georgina Segarra picked up their first win as a doubles duo on court three, 6-2.

Longwood (1-8, 0-4 BSC) is currently riding a three-match losing streak and sits at the bottom of the Big South standings. The Lancers' top player is Jamie Breunig, who owns a 2-7 record at No. 1 singles this spring. Longwood's duo of Anna Pelak and Mason Thomas has the best record on the team at 5-3 this season.

The Spiders own a 4-5 record this spring, including a 3-1 ledger at home. Most recently, Richmond fell to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, 5-2. Dessislava Zlateva is Richmond's top singles player, while Gaby Rosales and Brittany Boys make up the Spiders' top duo.

Following the matches, Campbell will face back-to-back conference opponents in Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian. The Camels will visit the Runnin' Bulldogs on Friday, March 17 before taking on the Blue Hose on Sunday, March 19.
