Camels pick up non-conference win over Morgan State, 5-2

BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- The Campbell women's tennis team picked up a non-conference win over the Morgan State Bears, 5-2, Tuesday afternoon at the James R. Nisbet Tennis Center. The Camels have now won four of their last six matches.

Campbell (7-8, 3-3 BSC) opened the match with a win at No. 3 doubles as juniors Nina Asanin and Georgina Segarra took their match, 6-4. The Camels clinched the doubles point on court two with a 6-3 win from Lea Cutura and Pauline Roustan. After trailing 3-0 on court one, Alexandra Andrivot and Isabel Boada fought back to force a tiebreaker, but ultimately fell 7-6 (7) to round out doubles play.

Trailing 1-0 headed into singles play, the Bears tied the match with a win on court four, 6-3, 6-0. Campbell answered with three-straight singles wins to clinch the match. Boada took the match at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-0 for her third-straight win. Andrivot stayed hot with a 6-3, 6-2 victory on court one, good for her sixth-straight. Asanin clinched the win for Campbell on court six with a score of 6-3, 6-2. Alexandra Nicoara earned her second-straight win in a three-set match on court three, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.
