Campbell volleyball earned four NCCSIA all-state selections for their performances during the 2016 season. Kayla Schanback and Jenny Tait earned first team honors and Rachel Harty and Loni Kreun were named to the second team.
Schanback was named to the first team at the libero position for Campbell. She led the team with 566 digs. She finished third in the conference with that mark. She earned two Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors during the 2016 season, Oct. 24 and Nov. 7. She notched a team-high 45 services aces on the 2016 season.
Tait also was named to the first team for Campbell, at the middle blocker position. She finished the season with a .356 hitting percentage, 267 kills, and 341 points, all career-highs. Her .356 hitting percentage placed her first in the league. She hit above .300 for 21 matches on the season, including six of her last nine contests to end the regular season. She connected on double-digit kills in seven of her final 10 matches.
Harty was named to the second team at the right side position for Campbell. The sophomore finished a career-high 120 kills on the season. She also collected 50 total blocks for the Camels. She hit .200 or better in 11 games this season, including a career-high .571 against Presbyterian, Oct. 8.
Kreun also earned second team honors as an outside hitter. She finished the 2016 regular season leading Campbell with 332 kills, fifth in the Big South. She connected on 10-plus kills in 19 matches this season. She collected season-best 22 kills came Oct. 28 against Winthrop. She finished third on the team with 325 digs, behind Summer Schuitema and Schanback.
