BUIES CREEK,
N.C. The Campbell wrestling team (8-10) fell 33-6 to UNC
Greensboro in a Wednesday night matchup inside Fleming Gymnasium.
The Spartans
ceased control from the start by getting a pin at the 125 pound
weight class and a decision at 133 pounds. The only CU team points of the night
came on an Ethan Carmody win by forfeit at 141 pounds.
The UNCG
wrestlers then won the final seven matches, three by way of major
decision, en route to their 33-6 final margin of victory. The closest matches of the night
came at 174 pounds, Byron Sigmon over Ryan Ham, and 197 pounds,
Jeremy Cannon over Parker Burns, as both finished with a three
point margin.
The Camels
will now prepare for the East Region Championships at Boiling
Springs, N.C. on Saturday, Mar. 7 where they will vie for a spot at
the NCAA Championships.
