BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Nationally-ranked Virginia won all ten
individual matches and went on to a 53-0 win over the Campbell
wrestling team Saturday inside Carter Gym.
Virginia moves to 8-2 overall on the year, while Campbell falls to
0-3 in dual competition this year.
The Cavaliers, ranked No. 24 in this week's Intermat Top
25 poll, registered five pins in and two technical fall victories
over the Camels.
Saturday's match was one of just two home events for Campbell this
year; CU will also host Gardner-Webb on Jan. 25 inside the Pope
Center.
The Camels are off for Christmas, and will next take the mat Dec.
29-30 when they travel to Greensboro to participate in the
prestigious Southern Scuffle. Competition is slated for a 10 a.m.
start each day of the tournament.
