CHARLESTON, S.C. – Three Camels picked up wins Sunday against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in a neutral site match on the campus of The Citadel. Seniors Daniel Luty and Cody Ryba, and sophomore Ville Heino, earned points for Campbell but the team fell short to the Cougars, 32-11.
Ryba tallied his first win of the season, downing Christ Johnson (Dec. 7-3). Luty rebounded from his first loss at home against Gardner-Webb on senior night as he claimed victory over Sam Zimmerman (Dec. 14-3).
"Daniel [Luty] came out excited and really performed well tonight," head coach Cary Kolat said. "Cody [Ryba] controlled all positions and really did a good job on his feet coming up with several single-leg takedowns."
Heino continued his dominance in duals this season as he took down Derek Nagel (Dec. 13-5) for his 17th overall dual win of the season, the fifth in conference matches.
