JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - Three program records were shattered as Campbell concluded competition at the UNF Invitational at Hodges Stadium on Friday.
IN THE FIELD
Caitlyn Vester broke the hammer throw program record behind a 56.46m (185' 3") mark. Vester's mark now sits atop the Big South performance list this season.
D.J. McClain beat his own hammer throw school-record for the second time this season, throwing for a mark of 57.58m (188' 11") today.
Jenna Dankert threw for the best javelin mark in the Big South this season with a 42.97m (140' 11") mark.
In the triple jump event Andre Douglas earned the top mark in the Big South after clearing 15.50m (50' 10.25") while C.J. McBride earned the second-best mark in the conference behind a 15.40m (50' 6.25) mark.
ON THE TRACK
Athanas Kioko shattered a school-record on the track for the second time at the UNF Invite. Kioko finished the 800m in 1:49.05, besting former Campbell great Jeff Slater's previous best record time of 1:51.34. The Machakos, Kenya native's time ranks as the best in the Big South this season and fifth all-time in conference history.
Campbell's 4x100m relay team of Samuel Adams, Dominique Alexander, Chimdi Osuji and Daequon Carr set the fastest time in the Big South this season, finishing in 40.65.
