Campbell University's Student-Athlete Support Program (SASP) provides educational programs that promote the general well being of the student-athlete. It has been created to assist student-athletes with a number of issues ranging from the development of personal responsibility and educational goals to addressing personal and social problems that are unique to the Division I student-athlete. The Student-Athlete Support Program also offers confidential and professional assistance, regarding any personal pressures that may adversely affect academic or athletic performance.
The Campbell University Department of Athletics is concerned with the total growth and overall welfare of the student-athlete, and provides a wide variety of activities and services to promote social, spiritual, academic, physical, and emotional development. These services include Academic Support Services, the NCAA Life Skills program, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and the Camel CARE Team. The Student-Athlete Support Program is consistent with the overall statement of purpose of Campbell University. This program is supervised by the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Academic Services with assistance from Academic Counselors; however, it is a comprehensive program that involves many members of the athletic staff.
