Last time out
Campbell opened the 2017-18 season on Nov. 12 in Lawrence, Kan., against the Kansas Jayhawks, a 66-48 win for the home side. It was the first time in program history that Campbell has played a Big 12 school.
Summer Price led the Camels with 18 points in the contest. Five freshmen made their collegiate debuts, all playing at least 10 minutes.
Lauren McNamara-Clement led the team with six rebounds, while Kyra Davis added four. Tatyana Carver also scored in double figures, contributing 10 points. Ashlyn Hampton and Micaila Coleman each snagged a pair of rebounds in the opener.
Big South preseason information
The Camels were tabbed third in the Big South preseason poll, earning 77 points in the vote.
Summer Price and
MaKala Rouse were named to the preseason second team all-conference.
2017-18 Camels
CU returns nine from last season, including its top four scorers, while adding six new faces to the squad. Price, Rouse,
Caroline Bowns and
Hannah Long are the top four returning scorers for the Camels.

Alyshia Allison also return for the Orange and Black. Joining the squad for the 2017-18 season are Micaila Coleman, Ashlyn Hampton, Tatyana Carver, Kyra Davis and Julia Crocker.
Campbell in home openers
Campbell is 4-1 in season-openers in the last five seasons, having defeated St. Andrews last season, 94-39. In the past 10 years, the Camels are 7-3 in season-openers.
Sunday's road opener is the first time the Camels have opened up on the road since the 2010-11 season, when they traveled to then non-conference opponent, Longwood, on Nov. 12, 2010.
William Peace notes
Friday's contest is the season-opener for the Pacers, having gone 17-9 in 2016-17 with an 8-6 mark in the USA South.
William Peace outscored opponents 69.0-63.1 last season, with a season-high 104 points against Southern Virginia.
The Pacers went 7-6 on the road last season, including a 4-3 mark in non-conference play.
The Pacers lost their top two scorers from last season who combined for 26.1 points per game. Mikayla Ray is the highest returning scorer, averaging 9.2 points in 2016-17.
Ray also led the Pacers with 9.5 rebounds per game last season, including a 6.8 average per game on the defense end.
Freshmen Impact
Five of the six freshmen appeared in Sunday's opener at Kansas. All five recorded at least 10 minutes of game time, led by Tatyana Carver's 22 minutes. Lauren McNamara-Clement posted a team-high six boards.
1,000-point watch
Senior guard
Summer Price is nearing the 1,000-point plateau, only needing 65 points to reach that mark. Price tallied 416 points last season, 45 percent of her three-year career total.
2016-17 top scoring defense
Campbell finished the 2016-17 season with the top scoring defense in NCAA Division I, allowing just 49.6 points per game.
The Camels held teams to just 47.8 points per game inside Gore Arena. CU tallied nine double-digit victories, holding opponents to under 40 points in five of those contests.
