Stephanie Fox

Directing Campbell’s cheerleading program since 2017, Stephanie Fox was named full-time head coach in March 2025.

“I am excited to welcome Stephanie into her expanded role,” said director of athletics Hannah Bazemore. “Her contributions to our campus and community through our cheerleading program over the last eight seasons have been remarkable. We look forward to further elevating and expanding our cheerleading program with a focus on competitive cheer.”

“I am beyond excited to take on this new full-time role,” said Fox. “After eight incredible years as a part-time coach, I’ve witnessed firsthand the dedication, passion, and growth of our athletes.  This opportunity allows me to focus fully on recruitment, skill development, and team culture. Campbell University is a special place and I am eager to continue nurturing our athletes’ talent and building on the foundation that we have worked hard to achieve.”

Named head cheerleading coach in a part-time capacity in April 2017, Fox joined the Fighting Camels after spending the previous six years as cheerleading coach and health and physical education instructor at Harnett Central High School.

Since graduating from East Carolina in 2002, where she was a varsity cheerleader, Fox has taught in the Harnett County and Charlotte-Mecklenburg County school systems, totaling 22 years of service, including 17 in Harnett County.

“I would like to thank Hannah Bazemore for being a leader that recognizes the importance of the cheerleading program as athletes and ambassadors to our university,” added Fox. “I feel this sets a precedent for other college programs to invest more into spirit programs and recognize their value athletically and culturally.”

In her first year as varsity head coach at Harnett Central, she was named 2012-13 Greater Neuse River Conference coach of the year after guiding her team to a league title. Fox’s team also won a national high school title at the 2014 Cheer Ltd. Nationals at CANAM.

An Angier, N.C. native and 1998 graduate of Harnett Central High School, Fox and her husband, Brian, reside in Lillington with their four children – Colby, Cade, Cam and Cassie.
