JOB TITLE: ADVANCEMENT DEPARTMENT INTERN

DEPARTMENT: Advancement

DURATION: Spring or Fall Semester

POSITION TYPE: Internship

SUMMARY:
The intern in the Advancement Department will work closely with the Senior Associate Athletics Director to support the team in their efforts to increase alumni engagement, cultivate relationships with donors, and raise funds for the university.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in maintaining a growing portfolio of donors
  • Communicating with donors and ensuring they receive appropriate benefits and recognition for their support.
  • Assisting in the development of donor communication materials, such as newsletters, emails, and social media posts.
  • Conducting research on potential donors and sponsors to identify new funding opportunities.
  • Providing general administrative support to the athletic advancement team as needed.
  • Assisting in organizing and executing events for the Fighting Camel Club, such as game-day hospitality.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Advancement.
     


JOB TITLE: CAMPBELL ATHLETICS BUSINESS INTERN

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Campbell Athletics is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Athletics Business Intern. This individual will assist in day-to-day business operations within the Athletics department. The ideal candidate is passionate about sports, possesses excellent organization skills, and assist in managing budgets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the overall planning and execution of operating budgets within the Athletics department
  • Assist in the maintenance/tracking of budgets – 21 sports
  • Collaborate with the coaches, and other departments to coordinate appropriate budget allocations
  • Maintain all our Under Armour budgets
  • Assist in troubleshooting any budget overages
  • Assist in organizing and filing of payments/paperwork

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in sports management, event management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in Business background
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills – as you are constantly working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse audiences.
  • A demonstrated passion for sports and a solid understanding of business logistics
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

JOB TITLE:  CAMPBELL ATHLETICS BROADCAST AND LIVE PRODUCTION

POSITION OVERVIEW: Campbell Athletics is seeking a highly motivated and organized individuals to join our team as a broadcast and live production intern. This individual will play a crucial role in helping put on nearly 100 live video streaming productions for FloSports

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare for live production for all Campbell video streamed sports
  • Learn each position and roles for live production
  • Work live events
  • In-Front of the camera broadcast work is not required but may be available for those who want to pursue it
  • Communicate effectively with constituencies and teammates

JOB TITLE:  GAME DAY OPERATIONS INTERNSHIP

DEPARTMENT: Athletics

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Game Day Operations Intern, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of events and activities on game days for various sports. This internship offers hands-on experience in event planning, operations management, and teamwork, providing valuable insights into the dynamics of organizing large-scale events in a collegiate environment. As an intern some of the possible responsible would include the following:
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of game day activities for all Campbell sporting events.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including signage, decorations, and equipment.
  • When needed provide on-site support during games, addressing any operational issues or emergencies as they arise.
  • Direct visiting teams and officials to locker rooms and provide transportation to game site when needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Game Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently a full-time undergrad student at Campbell University, preferably majoring in sport management, event management, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team setting
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on game schedules and event requirements.

JOB TITLE:  CAMPBELL ATHLETICS MARKETING STUDENT INTERNSHIP
Looking to gain experience in collegiate athletics marketing and game day promotions? The Campbell Athletics Marketing Department is in search of hard-working, diligent, and self-motivated students interested in gaining valuable experience in marketing and the sports industry. The Campbell Athletics Marketing Department is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans for all Campbell athletics programs, in addition to other initiatives. This position will provide an educational experience related to all facets of collegiate athletics marketing. At first, students will assist in implementing marketing and promotional plans at Campbell Athletics Events through various promotional activities and have the opportunity to grow into positions where they develop marketing plans for select sports.

GAME-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
  • Helping to execute all pre-game and in-game promotions for Campbell Athletic Events
  • Oversee the set-up and breakdown of event and promotional materials
  • Facilitate the distribution of giveaway items and promotional materials to fans pre-game
  • Select contestants for, and execute in-game promotions and contests with an understanding of NCAA rules
  • Serve as a liaison with groups, vendors, special guests, sponsors, etc.
  • Grow into roles where you have the opportunity to oversee the production of sporting events including PA announcers, video board production, music, and fan engagement
IN-OFFICE OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
  • Assist marketing staff with the planning, preparation, organization, and execution of marketing and promotional plans for select sports and special events
  • Develop new and unique marketing initiatives and strategies
  • Design and create graphics/advertisements for print and digital media
QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB TITLE: STUDENT-ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The intern in the Student-Athlete Development Department will work closely with the Director to facilitate personal, professional, and leadership programming to prepare student-athletes for their journey at Campbell University and transition into the professional world.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of personal, professional, and leadership development programs for student-athletes.
  • Provide support in organizing events, workshops, and activities that contribute to the holistic development of student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to create resources and materials for workshops and seminars.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to student-athletes on personal and professional development matters.
  • Assist with program assessment and evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Assist with coordination of community engagement opportunities.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director for Student-Athlete Development.

JOB TITLE: TURF MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP

POSITION OVERVIEW: Campbell University Athletics Department invites applications for the position of Student Intern Turf Management Assistant. The Intern Turf Management Assistant is a hands-on learning opportunity for individuals interested in gaining practical experience in the maintenance and care of turfgrass on Division I sports fields, and other green spaces. This position offers exposure to various aspects of turf management, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, pest and weed control, and turf renovation. The intern will work closely with an experienced turf management professional to develop skills and knowledge relevant to the field.

TURF MAINTENANCE: Assist with mowing, edging, and trimming turfgrass using appropriate equipment and techniques. Participate in the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf care products as directed by the supervising turf manager. Monitor turf health and identify signs of disease, pests, or other issues requiring intervention.

CULTURAL PRACTICES: Participate in aerification, topdressing, and overseeding activities to improve soil structure, drainage, and turf density. Assist with turf renovation projects, including sodding, seeding, and sod removal as needed. Painting and lining athletic fields on a weekly basis as needed.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: Learn to operate and maintain turf management equipment such as mowers, aerators, spreaders, and sprayers. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and sharpening equipment under supervision.

RECORD KEEPING AND DOCUMENTATION: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including pesticide applications, irrigation schedules, and equipment maintenance activities. Compile data and assist in the preparation of reports related to turf health, maintenance activities, and project progress.

QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or related program. Strong interest in pursuing a career in turf management or a related field. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and collaborate effectively with team members. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The Intern Turf Management Assistant will primarily work outdoors on turfgrass areas such as sports fields, and green open spaces. The position may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun. The intern will work closely with a turf management professional and may interact with other staff and stakeholders involved in facility management or camps recreational programming.

JOB TITLE: CREATIVE AND MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP

DEPARTMENTS: Creative and Media Communications

REPORTS TO: Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Branding

POSITION TYPE: Internship

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Intern in Creative and Media Communications will help with creating and distributing social and traditional media to help with the promotion of Campbell's 21 NCAA Division I varsity sports; while assisting in the marketing and operational effort of the department.
  • Shoots and edits videos and photos for distribution
  • Designs and edits media/recruiting guides and game programs.
  • Designs and updates graphics for social media.
  • Writes news releases and social media for distribution.

TICKETING AND SPONSORSHIP INTERNSHIP

SUMMARY: This is a position required to work weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends, and holidays, as required in a busy and dynamic working environment. Reporting directly to the Director of sales. Responsible for ticket sales and providing excellent customer service for events. Also responsible for helping with ticket and sponsorship invoicing, billing and game day activation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accurately process ticket orders as required; accurately process payments.
  • Sell tickets for individual games, season tickets, tournament games, and promotions.
  • Maintains accurate count when selling tickets and provides accurate customer accounts.
  • Completes daily ticket sales reports. Accurately reconciles balance sheet of cash, debit/credit received, and tickets sold; balances sales and cash float and submits cash to the Director of Tickets, for audit.
  • Fills reservations for seats by telephone and handles Will-Call window according to procedures, or other related duties as assigned by the Director of Tickets.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, responding professionally, promptly, and efficiently to customers' service requests and needs.
  • Accurately & promptly relays any complaints or potential issues to the Director of Tickets.
  • Able to work independently and handle most box office questions and related tasks with minimal to no assistance.
  • Efficiently and courteously answers questions concerning prices, seating, events, and related box office questions.

Position Overview: Campbell Athletics is seeking highly motivated and organized individuals to join our team as an equipment operations intern. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring that all teams in our athletic department are equipped with the proper gear needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage equipment distributing for 21 varsity sports for Campbell Athletics.
  • Manage returns and exchanges for all Under Armour orders.
  • Maintain all inventory records for athletic apparel for all 21 varsity sports.
  • Oversee the embellishment process for all sports teams as well as athletic staff whether it is heat pressing gear in house or taking it to one of our company's.
  • Help oversee and manage the athletic department's shipping and receiving of gear purchased.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Working on achieving a bachelor's degree in sports management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous work experience in sports equipment operations preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to be able to interact with coaches and administrators.
  • Able to lift heavy objects (up to 30 lbs.)

Campbell University (CU) is seeking to hire a graduate assistant to assist with day-to-day operations of the NCAA Athletic Compliance program in Buies Creek, NC.
Responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of CU's NCAA Division I Compliance program, including:
  • Assisting with the Rules Education program
  • Provide interpretations to coach and staff
  • Updating and monitoring student-athlete forms
  • Monitoring recruiting activities and the time management plan
  • Assisting with financial aid reviews and data entry
  • Managing rosters
  • Data energy into systems such as ARMS and CA 2.0

Position provided coverage of full tuition, books, and fees to the university's graduate program of chance and a room and board stipend. The position is for one year with the option of two years. Preferred start date is July-August 2024.

The candidate must be a self-starter with a desire and willingness to learn NCAA compliance. The position will be designed to provide the candidate with first-hand experience working with NCAA Division I Bylaws and processes in an environment that is conductive to immersion in day-to-day workings of a Division I school. Mature, respectful, professional engagement and demeanor with student-athletes and university personnel is a must. The candidate must also be accepted and enrolled into a graduate or undergraduate program at Campbell University.

Overview: As a Campbell Sports Performance student intern, you will have the chance to work with a variety of Division 1 sports and with a staff that prioritizes your educational development above all else. We provide a thorough learning environment that emphasizes real-world application, science, the art of coaching, and how to manage a program from top to bottom.
