The inaugural Orange Tie Gala was held in conjunction with the Fighting Camels' move to the Coastal Athletic Association on the evening of June 30, 2023, just before CU officially became a CAA member at midnight. The Camels departed a 12-year tenure in the Big South Conference that produced the most titles and NCAA appearances since Campbell first joined the NCAA's top level in 1977.

In the spirit of the inaugural event, the Orange Tie Gala will continue annually to celebrate the achievements in Campbell Athletics, both on and off the field of competition, while providing support for the student-athlete experience.

The 2024 event saw the Orange Tie Gala grow to even greater heights, raising thousands for athletics scholarships.

The Orange Tie Gala will find its permanent home each fall one night prior to the Fighting Camels' final home football game of the regular season, gathering the top supporters of Campbell Athletics, along with administration and coaches.
