North Carolina A&T Defeats Campbell in Camels First Ever Swim Meet

BUIES CREEK N.C. – Kristin Thomas earned Campbell's first ever individual victory, but North Carolina A&T defeated the Camels 124 to 67 in the CU's first ever swim meet Friday night at the Johnson Memorial Natatorium.

Gia Wright was the top finisher on the Aggies, earning two individual victories. Wright finished with a time of 58.14 seconds to take the 100 Yard Freestyle race and won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:13.12.

Thomas, a freshman from Roanoke, Va., notched CU's first ever individual win with a time of 2:08.75 in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Thomas later won the 100 Yard Backstroke finishing with a time of 1:04.51.

Overall North Carolina A&T won eight of the 10 races on the night including the two relays. In the 200 Yard Relay, the meet's final event, the Aggies team ‘B' beat out Cambpell's team ‘A' by five tenths of a second for second place.

The Camels, an associate member of the Northeast Conference in swimming, return to action Saturday, Oct. 2 at 8:00 a.m. in Wilmington for an exhibition meet with the Seahawks. [Complete Meet Results]
