Season High to Lead Lady Camels Past UCF,
63-54
    
BUIES CREEK, N.C.  Stacey Hinkle scored a season-high 17
points and led four players in double figures as the Campbell
University women's basketball team defeated the University of
Central Florida, 63-54, in Trans America Athletic Conference action
today in Carter Gym.
     Hinkle connected on 5-of-9 from the field, including four from
long range, and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe to help the Lady
Camels (15-4, 11-0) extend their winning streak to 10 games.  It
was also their 18th consecutive win over TAAC
opponents.
     April Cromartie, who's scored in double figures every game
this season, recorded her fifth double-double of the year with 14
points, 10 rebounds.  Sara Moore and Janice Washington each added
10 points, while Washington dealt five assists.
     UCF fell to 6-14, 4-7 despite a career-high 21 points from
Lanetra Cooks   She hit 5-of-9 field goals, four of which were
three-pointers, and 3-of-4 free throws.  Marvelous Washington also
scored in double figures with 12 points.  LaToya Graham led the
Golden Knights with eight rebounds, while Yvette Ash dished six
assists.
     The Golden Knights opened the game with a 5-0 run, but Sara
Moore scored six points in a 9-2 Campbell run that gave the Lady
Camels a 9-7 lead at 14:30.  CU pushed its lead to six points four
times in the remainder of the half before carrying a 26-23 lead
into the break.
     The Lady Camels went on an 11-4 run over the first 4:43 of the
second half to extend their lead to 10 points (37-27).   However,
Cooks sank three of her four triples in a UCF run that would tie
the game at 42-all with 7:52 to go.  After two ties and three lead
changes, CU took the lead for good at 6:27 on a jumper by Carrie
Emory.
     Campbell shot 40.4 percent (21-52) for the game and held a
37-35 advantage on the glass.  UCF was 19-of-52 from the field
(36.5 percent) and commited 21 turnovers.  CU had 16 miscues.
     The Lady Camels travel to Samford on Feb. 8.  Gametime is 7:00
