Cross Country Teams Head to Atlantic
Sun Championships
BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell University's cross country
teams will compete for league honors on Saturday at the Atlantic
Sun Championships in Atlanta, Ga.
"All the kids have
been training hard and we're really excited about this meet," said
head coach Ken Frenette. "This is the meet we've been pointing
toward all year."
On the men's side, senior Ryan Richmond from Morrisville,
N.Y., heads the charge. A two-time all-conference performer, who
placed third in last year's league meet, Richmond has three top-10
showings this fall.
He was runner-up at the Gamecock Invitational on Sept. 8 and
placed third at the North Carolina Championships on Oct. 13 where
he earned all-state honors for the second-straight year.
Freshman Michael Earle from Scarborough, Ontario also earned
all-state recognition with a seventh-place showing at the N.C.
Collegiates on Oct. 13. His 25:45 clocking was a season-best for
an 8,000-meter event.
Freshmen Clarence Williams from Hampton, Va., and Kyle
Ridington from Malvern, Pa., are also coming off season-best times
in the N.C. Collegiates event.
