Campbell Women
Finish Fourth at Carolina Cross Country
Challenge
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Ryan Richmond and
Heather Lee produced top finishes for Campbell University at the
Carolina Challenge cross country meet hosted by the University of
North Carolina.
On the women's side,
junior Heather Lee continued her outstanding fall with a
fourth-place showing to pace the Lady Camels. The Calgary, Alberta
native covered the 5,000-meter course in 17:36.40, a 5:40 mile
pace. She has finished among the top five individuals in each of
Campbell's races this fall.
Renee Acker (20:06.90)
was 17th, while Natalie Lewis finished 19th
(20:16.80) for the Lady Camels. North Carolina's Shalane Flanagan
and Carol Henry tied for first with a time of 17:20.30.
The North Carolina
varsity won the women's race with 17 points, followed by the UNC
Alumni (67), Virginia Commonwealth (90), Campbell (107), UNC
Wilmington (108), North Carolina Central (164) and St. Augustine's
(177).
Campbell's cross
country teams return to action on Sat., Oct. 13 at the North
Carolina Intercollegiate Championships in Greenville.
