John Izzo Earns
Second A-Sun Offensive Player of the Week

BUIES CREEK, N.C.
John Izzo of Campbell University has been named the Atlantic
Sun Conference men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the
second time in three weeks.
Izzo, a junior
midfielder from Spring, Texas, assisted on Campbell's first goal,
then scored the game-winner in a 2-1 overtime victory at Georgia
State on Saturday. That victory propelled Campbell to its fourth
win in the last six outings and a sixth-place finish in the
Atlantic Sun Conference standings.
One of the top
offensive midfielders in the A-Sun, Izzo ranks second among league
leaders in assists (seven) and assists per game (0.44). He also
has added six goals in 16 outings for 19 points. Izzo rates sixth
among A-Sun leaders in points and is eighth in goals
scored.
He also gained
Offensive Player of the Week recognition on Oct. 28 following a
two-goal performance including the game-winner -- in
Campbell's 3-1 victory over Georgia Southern on Oct. 26.
Campbell finished its
first season under head coach Doug Hess with a 6-11 overall record
and 3-5 mark in the Atlantic Sun.
