Campbell Athletes Tune Up for Conference at UNC Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Eric Bergemann won the high jump to highlight Campbell University performances on Saturday at the UNC Invitational track and field meet at Fetzer Field.
Bergemann, a junior from Gresham, Ore., notched his second-best showing of the outdoor season with a leap of 6-feet, 11-and-3/4 inches to claim the high jump competition. Bergemann's best outdoor leap this year of 7-feet even came last month at the Pirate Relays.
Freshman Clarence Williams of Hampton, Va., finished second in the 800 meters with a clocking of 1:55.25, the best time by a Camel athlete in the event during the outdoor season.
Sophomore Jeremaine Hood from Snellville, Ga., ran a season-best 51.00 seconds in the 400 meters, marking the best time in the event by a CU runner this spring.
In the shot put, freshman Robert Pevler from Fayetteville, N.C., recorded his best throw of the year with a mark of 10.55 meters.
The Campbell track and field teams next compete in the Atlantic Sun Championships on Friday and Saturday, Apr. 19-20 at Troy, Ala.
