O'Neill Finishes Third at Waterlefe/USF Invitational

BRADENTON, FLA. – Campbell University junior Sharon O'Neill shot the day's low round and finished third in the Waterlefe/USF Invitational women's golf tournament on Tuesday at Waterlefe Golf Club.
O'Neill, a native of Mackay, Australia, carded a two-under-par 70 on Tuesday at the par-72, 5909-yard Waterlefe course to finish six strokes off the pace of medalist Emily Bastel of Michigan State. Bastel shot a two-under 214 (69-74-71) in the three-round event. Federica Piovano from the University of Central Florida was second at even-par 216 (71-70-75), while O'Neill completed the 54-hole event at four-over-par 220 (74-76-70).
O'Neill tied her season-low round and finished among the top 10 individuals for the fourth-straight tournament.
Michigan State won the team title by 16 strokes (902) over second-place Tulane (918). Campbell finished ninth at 949.
The Lady Camels return to action next Monday at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Invitational at River Landing Country Club in Wallace, N.C.
