Women's Basketball Signs Tomika Tomlinson

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - McDonald's All-America nominee Tomika Tomlinson has signed an athletics grant-in-aid to play for the Campbell University women's basketball team Head Coach Wanda Watkins announced on Tuesday.
A 5-foot-7 guard from Enloe High School, Tomlinson averaged 21.4 points, 4.4 assists, and nearly four steals per game as a senior. She proved to be a threat from behind the arc for Melinda Mouzzon's squad as she hit 2.5 treys per game.
"Tomika will be a nice addition to round out our newcomers. She will be a versatile guard that has potential to play point guard or the No. 2 guard," said Watkins. "She possesses the skill to make others around her better with her passing/penetrating ability and yet she is a big scoring threat from three-point range as well. She is athletic and full of potential. We look forward to her joining our program in the fall."
Named the 2002 Enloe High School Female Athlete of the Year, Tomlinson led the Triangle Alliance conference in scoring for four years, averaging more than 20 points per contest. She was a four-time team MVP and named Player of the Year in her senior campaign.
As a member of the Garner Flames AAU squad, Tomlinson achieved two state championships and one berth to the Sweet Sixteen in the National Tournament.
Other schools recruiting Tomlinson included Clemson, Charlotte, UNC Wilmington, Old Dominion, Liberty, and West Virginia.
Tomlinson will join Amber Graham, Dasha Green, Jennifer Lodge, and Kelly Manning to round out the 2002 recruiting class.
