Bergemann Fourth In Raleigh Relays High Jump; Jenkins Sets PR in 100

RALEIGH, N.C. – Junior Eric Bergemann finished fourth in the Raleigh Relays high jump to highlight performances of Campbell University athletes over the weekend.
Bergemann, a native of Gresham, Ore., missed his outdoor personal record by one inch with a 6-foot, 11-inch leap. He cleared seven feet outdoors for the first time at the Pirate Relays on Mar. 23.
Sophomore Daniel Jenkins from Sardis, Ga., notched a personal record with an 11.06 second time in the 100 meters. Freshman Jeremy Cucinella of Oviedo, Fla., ran a season-best 11.21 clocking in the event.
Freshman David Nibbs turned in the best 400 meter time by a Campbell athlete this spring with a 51.73 showing.
Freshman Clarence Williams of Hampton, Va., continued his strong outdoor campaign with a collegiate outdoor personal best time of 4:01.01 in the 1500 meters. Sophomore Jeremaine Hood from Snellville, Ga., missed his PR in the 1500 by 1.13 seconds, but he turned in a season-best 4:04.83 time in the event.
In the 5000 meters, freshman Michael Earle from Scarborough, Ontario ran 15:32.01, less than two seconds off his season-best time.
Campbell's track and field teams return to action on Friday and Saturday, Apr. 5-6 at the Duke Invitational.
