Campbell's O'Bryan Earns A-Sun Softball Weekly Player
Honor
MACON, Ga. - Campbell
University's Shannon O'Bryan (Sr., Louisville Ky.) led the Lady
Camels offensively smacking four homers and eight RBI and earns
Atlantic Sun Softball Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the
league office today.
O'Byran's power led the Lady Camels to
a 4-1 week. She was two-for-three with two homers and four RBI in
Campbell's opening game 11-inning 5-4 loss to Elon. O'Bryan
continued her offensive power against St. Bonaventure with another
two-for-three, one run, two RBI performance. Against Winthrop, she
grabbed a double and against St. Francis another homer, two runs
and two RBI.
She moved up to second in the Lady
Camel record book for career runs with 119 and into fourth place
with 215 career hits. She has 36 career homers. For the season,
O'Bryan leads the conference in batting average (.500) slugging
percentage (.896) and home runs (5). She ranks second in hits (24)
and total bases (43), third in runs scored (16) and fourth in on
base percentage (.547).
O'Byran and the Lady Camels will face
Radford at 3 pm on March 4 before heading south to open their
Atlantic Sun schedule against the newest softball program in the
conference, Jacksonville on March 7.

Freshman pitcher Lexi Myers
(Hanover, Pa.) finished the week with a 3-0 record working
two complete games and earning 2.5 shutouts. She scattered five
hits over 16.0 innings of work recording an ERA of .000. She
posted five strikeouts and walked five in the Camels five game road
stretch. Myers improved her record to 4-3 and has pitched 21
consecutive scoreless innings.

Following the Hampton Inn East Carolina
Softball Classic, freshman Kristina Schmallen was named to the
All-Tournament team. Schmallen was 7-for-12 at the plate with
recording two runs, one double and a stolen base. She made only
one error defensively in the tournament.

Softball Action
at College of Charleston Tournament Rained Out
CHARLESTON,
S.C. - Inclement weather cancelled Saturday afternoon's portion of
the College of Charleston Softball Tournament. Campbell scheduled
game against Virginia and subsequent bracket game were cancelled
and will not be made up.
The
Fighting Camels picked up three wins in Saturday's action to
improve to 8-10 on the season.
Campbell
will next travel to Radford for a doubleheader on Tues., March 4.
Action is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
