S.C. Brandi Underwood followed a first-round 73 with a
two-over 74 and Campbell University was tied for seventh place with
the College of Charleston following the first two rounds of the
College of Charleston Cougar Classic women's golf tournament on
Monday.
A senior from Hope
Mills, N.C., Underwood (73-74147) was tied for fifth place,
eight strokes behind leader Tina Miller (70-69139) of Miami
on the Yeamans Hall Golf Club layout, heading into the final round
Tuesday.
Underwood's first-round
73 marked the collegiate career low round for the senior from Hope
Mills, N.C., who had carded a 74 three times during her first three
years.
Campbell sophomore
Sofia Gorelik followed a first-round 78 with a second-round 71 to
stand in a five-way tie (that included East Carolina's Adrienne
Millican, a Buies Creek native) for 16th place at 149.
Notre
Dame, which shot a three-under 285 to lead the 17-school field
after 18 holes, slipped to a second-round 304 and was tied with
Miami for first place at 589 strokes entering Tuesday's final
round. Furman was third at 594, while Campbell notched
back-to-back 304s to stand at 608.
The event will be aired

round will air on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Live
