Charlotte Tops Lady Camels

CHARLOTTE The
Charlotte 49ers won the doubles point, then claimed five singles
matches to defeat Campbell 6-1 in women's tennis action on
Friday.
Campbell's Carmen
Linder and Pascale Veraverbeke won 8-4 at number-one doubles, but
Charlotte took the next two matches.
Linder defeated
Charlotte's Ashleigh Murray 7-6, 6-4 at number-two singles for
Campbell's lone point.
Charlotte's Laura
Swain defeated Veraverbeke in straight sets at number one. Marilyn
Clark and Jennifer Hatch provided the other two points the 49ers
needed for the singles triumph. Kathy Robey defeated Campbell's
Georgiana Marta in a third-set super tiebreak after the dual match
decision was decided.
Campbell (8-5)
continues at two-match trip to the Queen City on Saturday at noon
against UAB.
