Campbell Rallies to Finish Sixth at Francis Marion Intercollegiate

FLORENCE , S.C. – Campbell shot its second-straight 301 Tuesday and rallied to finish in a tie for sixth place at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate men's golf tournament , hosted by Francis Marion.

Paced by freshman Fredric Sundberg's 11th-place individual showing , the Camels concluded the 54-hole event at 913 strokes in the 13-team field.

Virginia Commonwealth won the event at 27-over 891 , five strokes better than second-place Coastal Carolina.

Matt Mincer of Charlotte , who shot a three-under 69 Tuesday , won individual honors at even-par 216. Carter Collins from Georgia College & State University finished second at two-over 218.

In his first collegiate tournament , Sundberg , a native of Gothenburg , Sweden , followed Monday's second-round 71 with a two-over 74 on the par-72 , 7062-yard Country Club of South Carolina layout.

Campbell returns to action next Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 27-28) at the University of Denver Ron Moore Invitational at Brighton , Colo.
