Camels Host Savannah State on Senior
Day
BUIES CREEK, N.C.The 2005
Campbell volleyball season concludes Saturday afternoon at 2:00
when the Camels host Savannah State on Senior Day. Three Campbell
student-athletes will be playing in their final matches as a
Camel.
Seniors
Alissa Brackeen and Crystal Sieber and junior Crystal Hoffman will
all don the orange & black for one final time.
This is the
third meeting between the two schools with the previous two coming
last season. The Camels won both meetings last season by a score
of 3-0. Campbell is looking to end its season on a positive note
for the second-consecutive year; the Camels defeated North Carolina
A&T in the season finale last year.
The Tigers enter today's match as winners of two of their last
three after opening the season 3-23. Donna Jenkins leads SSU with
3.78 kills per game and Satin Kinsey adds 2.41 kills per game.
Brackeen leads the Camels is
service aces, is second in digs, ranks third in kills and third in
points. She goes into the Campbell record books in the top 15 in
games played, 7th in assists, 9th in service aces and 8th in digs.
The Arlington, Texas native began her career as a setter for the
Camels before progressing into a solid attacker, with 292 kills her
junior season. Alissa came within just three service aces of
recording her first-career triple-double against Fayetteville State
earlier this season. She has career-highs of 19 kills, 57 assists,
30 digs, five blocks and seven service aces. Brackeen will
graduate from Campbell this Spring with a degree in Elementary
Education.
Hoffman, a Jacksonville, Fla. native, will graduate this Spring
with a degree in graphic design, after just three years in school.
Crystal plays a vital role in the Camels defense and service game.
She is fourth on the team with a .928 serving percentage,
committing just 16 errors in 222 service attempts. Crystal is a
staple on the Camels back line playing in 84 of the 110 games this
season. She set a career-high with 13 digs this season against
Charleston Southern and tied her career-best with two aces Tuesday
night against High Point.
Sieber, playing in her final match this afternoon, is one of
the best defensive players in the Atlantic Sun. The Corpus
Christi, Texas native has been ranked in the top five in the A-Sun
in digs all season long. Her 3.70 digs per game average this
season is the fifth best in Campbell history. Crystal transferred
to Campbell after two years at Blinn College. She set a
career-high with 31 digs against Charleston Southern this season
and has a career-best of four service aces which she set last
season against Western Carolina. Crystal ranks fourth on the team
with 16 service aces and is tied for the team lead with 106 games
played out of a possible 110. Crystal will graduate this Spring
with a degree in Psychology.
