Campbell
Begins Two-Match Homestand to Close Out 2005 Season Tuesday Against High Point

BUIES CREEK, N.C.—Malinda Ashcraft and the Campbell volleyball team wrap up the 2005 season this week with a pair of home matches beginning with High Point (15-15, 5-8 Big South) tonight at 7:00 pm in Carter Gym.
The Camels (9-21, 1-8 A-Sun) can equal last year's win totals with victories tonight and on Saturday against Savannah State on Senior Day. Ashcraft is continuing to turn around the Campbell program that finished with just two wins two years ago.
Campbell ended a nine-match losing streak with a 3-1 decision over North Carolina A&T last Tuesday, before falling 3-0 at Mercer in the final Atlantic Sun match of the year.
The Panthers enter the match as losers of five of their previous seven matches. High Point shares several common opponents with the Camels including North Carolina A&T, Gardner-Webb, UNC Greensboro and Radford; the Panthers defeated all of those teams except North Carolina A&T, while Campbell defeated all of those teams and split with the Aggies.
Tabitha Turner and Rachel Templin continue to be the offensive leaders for the Camels averaging 3.55 and 3.08 kills per game; they are the only Camels averaging over 2.00 kills per game. Crystal Sieber is Campbell's leading defender with 3.78 digs per game, while Sarah Dillon and Jessica Gleba have been splitting time running the offense dishing out 7.47 and 5.92 kills, respectively. Templin still leads the A-Sun averaging 1.23 blocks per game and Campbell still leads the conference with 2.35 team blocks per game.
High Point is led by 3.24 kills per game from Jamie Kaufman and 3.07 kills per game from Ashley Mellott. Jenelle Stouffer leads the team with 4.08 digs per game and Michelle Feiser leads the Panthers with 6.98 assists per game.
Campbell leads the all-time series against High Point 8-5, but the Panthers have won the last three including a 3-0 decision in High Point, N.C last year. The Camels won all eight of their matches in the series in consecutive outings from 1997 to 2001.
