N.C. State, Gardner-Webb Drop Campbell in Women's Swimming Opener

RALEIGH, N.C.- The Campbell women's swimming team opened up the 2006-07 campaign losing to N.C. State 164-51 and to Gardner-Webb 157-45 Friday evening in Raleigh.

Heidi Shallow placed the highest out of any Camel swimmer, finishing second in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.60.

The Camels also placed second in the 200 yard freestyle relay with the foursome of Taylor McCauley, Kristin Thomas, Ashley Theodossiou and Jackie Kenline clocking in with a time of 1:46.42.

In all, eight Camel freshman made their collegiate debut, with Jackie Kenline leading the way by finishing fifth in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:00.95 and sixth in the 500 yard freestyle by posting a time of 5:18.26

The Camels will be in action Saturday in Radford, Va. to take on Radford, VMI and James Madison. Start time for the meet is set for 11:00 a.m.
