RALEIGH, N.C. - Freshman Dillon Landi earned two victories on the night as Campbell fell to North Carolina State 34-13 and 36-9 to Liberty in its season opening duals Wednesday night at Reynolds Coliseum.

N.C. State took control of the first dual early, winning the first four matches. Steve Wiktorek got the Camels on the scoreboard at 157 with an 8-4 victory over Kody Hamrah.

The highlight of the dual for the Camels came two matches later when Landi, a Long Valley, N.J. native, recorded his first collegiate victory. The freshman scored a 13-5 major decision victory over Cameron Reeves at 174.

Two other Camels saw their first collegiate action in the match, as Redshirt freshman Chris Mazzatta was pinned at 149 while true freshman David Wise lost by major decision at 133.

Kyle Higgins rounded out the scoring for the Camels at 184, receiving a forfeit victory. That brought CU to within 10 points, but the Pack took the next two matches, providing the final 34-13 margin.

The second match proved to be another rough outing for the Camels. Liberty jumped out to an early 9-0 lead before redshirt freshman Kelin Bidelspach shut out Liberty's Dustin Hicks 4-0 at 141 to pull CU within six at 9-3.

Liberty stormed back to win the next three matches before Landi halted the Flame's streak by winning his second match of the night. Landi's victory came in convincing fashion, pinning Liberty's Si-Young Son 55 seconds into the matching, bringing the score to 21-9. That was as close as the Camels would get as Liberty pulled away by taking the next three matches, winning by a score of 36-9.

Campbell's next action takes place one week from Saturday, when the Camels head to Annapolis, Md. for the Navy Classic Tournament. Start time is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
