FAIRFAX, Va. - David Wise and Kelin Bidelspach
both won their matches by fall, helping lead the Camels to a 40-6
victory over Wagner in Campbell's first match of the CAA Duals
Friday evening. The win was the first CAA dual victory for the
Camels this year, who also snapped a six-dual winless streak.
Wise's and Bidelspach's pins came in consecutive matches, with the
freshman Wise recording his first collegiate pin by sticking
Wagner's Joe Cipriano at the 1:03 mark of the first period.
Bidelspach followed up Wise by taking just 15 seconds longer to pin
Chris Parish, giving him a share of the team lead in victories, and
the Camels a 16-0 lead.
Richie Apolinar preceded the two pins by scoring a 16-6, major
decision victory over Nicholas Keshecki. Steve Wiktorek and
Jeremiah Fennell also picked up decisions in their matches to round
out the Campbell victories.
Wagner, who has yet to win a dual this season, forfeited three
weight classes on the evening in spotting the Camels 18 points. The
Camels ended up winning five of the seven matches wrestled to put
away the dual.
The Camels have a long day at the duals tomorrow. After not
wrestling in the first round Friday, the Camels have three duals
scheduled for Saturday. CU takes on Boston U. at 11:00 a.m., Sacred
Heart at 1:00 and Binghamton at 3:00 to round out its weekend in
Fairfax.
