LOVELAND, OHIO Senior
Isak Pettersen paced Campbell with a two-under-par 70 in the second
round and the Camels stand four strokes off the team lead after 36
holes Monday at the Xavier Invitational men's golf tournament.
Junior Mark Coppell followed
a first-round 67 (his collegiate career low) with an even-par 72
and is tied for ninth place heading into Tuesday's final 18
holes. Senior Fredric
Sundberg is one stroke back at four-under 140 (68-72) and tied for
14th place.
Pettersen turned in a
two-under 70 to follow a first round 75 and is tied for 36th place
at plus-one 145. Sophomore
Gregg Hostetter is tied for 30th place at even-par 144 (69-75),
while freshman Zak Drescher is in 51st place at 147
(74-73).
Phillip Hendrickson of
Eastern Kentucky (65-69) and Joshua Kelley (66-68) of St. Mary's
sit on top of the individual leader board at 10-under 134. Brent Long of Western Kentucky
enters the final round one stroke off the pace at
68-67135.
Campbell led the team standings
following its first-round, 10-under 278, but dropped to fourth
place with a second-round one-under-par score of 287. Marquette leads the 20-school field at
15-under 561 (295-266), followed by St. Mary's (Calif.) at 563,
Eastern Kentucky (564) and the Camels (565).
Tuesday's final round in the
54-hole tournament at the par-72, 6921-yard Oasis Golf Club begins
with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
