Fredric Sundberg shot an even-par 70 on Monday to lead Campbell
University in the first round of the Old Dominion Seascape
Collegiate men's golf tournament.
A senior from
Gothenburg, Sweden, Sundberg was one of only 10 golfers to shoot
par or better in the 106-man field at Seascape Golf Club. He trails individual leaders
Neil O'Briain (Wofford), Jimmy Lytle (Elon) and Jordan Utley
(Richmond) by three strokes heading into Tuesday's final round on
the par-70, 6131-yard layout.
Campbell is tied with host ODU for
fifth place at 292 strokes in the 21-school event. Wofford (283) leads Hartford (284) by
one stroke after 18 holes.
Richmond (288) is third, followed by Elon (291), the Camels and Old
Dominion.
Campbell sophomore Daniel Ng Choo Sian
is tied for 24th place at three-over 73, while freshman Zak
Drescher is tied for 33rd at plus-four 74. Sophomore Gregg Hostetter shot 75 on
Monday and is tied for 43rd, while freshman Cristobal Sanchez
carded an 80 and is in a tie for 81st
place.
