BUIES CREEK, N.C.-With just two contests
left this year, Campbell volleyball heads to Greensboro Tuesday,
Nov. 6, to face the Aggies of North Carolina A&T.
Last time the Fighting
Camels faced NC A&T, Campbell's
offense spread 38 kills over five players. Freshman outside hitter
Emily Werner collected ten of those, also grabbing seven digs.
Taylor Deering, another freshman outside hitter, was tagged with
eight kills, seven digs, two block assists and an ace for her
efforts.
In
the middle, juniors Katie Stallings and Femi Alabi collected seven
kills each with Alabi adding a solo block. Pacing the defense,
Melissa Harvey, a sophomore libero, notched 11 digs. Freshman
Caroline Hammersley added five service aces in the win.
For
the Aggies, junior middle hitter Aundia Gray, led the way on
offense with eight kills, while also collecting three block
assists. Senior libero Krystal Cooper grabbed 12 digs, also
contributing five kills.
Campbell has been paced by junior middle
blocker Femi Alabi this season, averaging 2.89 kills and 0.98
blocks per game while hitting .290, leading the team in those
categories.
Sophomore libero
Melissa Harvey has also collected a squad leading 4.35 digs with
0.47 aces per game.
After facing NC A&T, the Fighting Camels will play their season
finale on Thursday at Winston-Salem State. In their previous
meeting, CU put the Rams away in three games. That Aug. 28 meeting
was Campbell's 2007 home opener.
