Alejandra Shaw placed sixth individually and Campbell finished
fifth in the team standings after Tuesday's final round of the UNCW
Lady Seahawk Invitational at River Landing Country Club.
Shaw shot a two-under 70 to
match the low round of the day and finished at 223 (80-73-70) for
her fourth top-10 showing of the season.
Emily Klein of host UNC
Wilmington claimed individual honors at four-under 212 (71-71-70),
four strokes better than teammate Carmen Perez-Narbon
(76-66-74). The Seahawks
won the team title by 17 strokes over second-place
East Tennessee State. UNCW
shot 303-284-207884, while ETSU finished at 901 (304-298-299)
in the 15-school field.
East Carolina was third
(908), followed by Maryland (909), Campbell (309-304-304917),
which produced its seventh top-five team finish in nine outings
this season.
Campbell junior Maite Ortiz de Pinedo
tied for 13th at 226 (73-76-77). Freshman Mary Mattson fired an
even-par 72 (84-78-72234) to improve to a tie for 32nd place
on the final day. Belen
Diaz Cisneros tied for 53rd (79-77-85241), while Emily
Simpson was 60th (77-82-85244) to round out the Camel
scoring.
Jaclyn Perlman tied for 61st
place (83-80-82245) playing as an
individual.
The Lady Camels continue
their spring campaign Apr. 2-3 at the John Kirk Lady Panther
Intercollegiate in Stockbridge, Ga., at Eagle's Landing Golf Club,
site of the LPGA Chick-Fil-A event.
