BUIES CREEK,
N.C.-Lauren Yesh signed a National Letter of Intent to play
basketball at Campbell University beginning with the 2007-08 season
Lady Camels head coach Wanda Watkins announced Monday
afternoon.
Yesh, a 5-foot-10
forward prepped at Evart High School in Evart, Michigan. As a
senior for the Wildcats, Yesh averaged 13 points, 7 rebounds, 2
blocks and 2 steals a game en route to All-State and All-Conference
honors as well as being a McDonald's All-American nominee.
"Lauren is a versatile
player and her comprehension of the game gives us some options in
facing different types of teams and styles of defense," Watkins
said. "She is a scholar athlete who will be an asset to our team
and we look forward to her joining our Campbell family."
Yesh was a preseason
selection to the Michigan-Detroit Free Press Top 100 Girls prior to
her senior season after being named All-Conference for the third
time and All-State from the first time following her junior
season.
"She is a workhorse and
is strong and aggressive inside," Watkins said. "She has strong
passing skills for a forward and has the ability to step out and
consistently score on the perimeter."
Yesh joins Whitney
Ferguson in the 2007 freshmen class for the Lady Camels. Ferguson,
a 5-foot-11 forward from Ramseur, N.C., signed with Campbell back
in November.
