Women's Soccer Set to Host Atlantic Sun Foes

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After winning two out of three games last week, Campbell looks to carry that momentum into the weekend as they face a pair of conference opponents in Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson. The Camels will face FGCU on Thursday at 5 p.m. and will take on Stetson at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Campbell (2-4-2, 1-1-0) is coming off a great week after going 2-1 during the previous week. The Camels began the week with a decisive 2-1 win over former A-Sun member Gardner-Webb. Campbell followed that victory up with a 1-0 win in the conference opener against Lipscomb before dropping a tight 2-1 decision to Belmont.

Goalkeeper Boomie Luck was awarded the A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week award on Monday for her efforts last week. After making great two incredible saves to preserve the win against Gardner-Webb, she pitched her second shutout of the season against Lipscomb. Kaili Terry was also a top performer last week as she registered a goal in all three games.

Florida Gulf Coast (5-2-2, 0-0-2) played to two 1-1 ties to open up conference play last week. The Eagles tied Kennesaw State before tying Mercer over the weekend. FGCU has been on a hot streak lately as they have only dropped one contest in the past seven matches and that was against No. 8 Florida State.

Leading the offensive charge for the Eagles has been Lindsay Haw who has accumulated four goals this season. Casey Lademann has also chipped in three goals this season for FGCU. Goalkeeper Stephanie Powers leads the defense as she has posted two shutouts in her seven starts this year.

Stetson (3-5-2, 1-1-0) dropped their conference opener last week to Mercer before defeating defending conference champion Kennesaw State. After dropping four of their first five games, the Hatters have only lost one out of their past six games.

Tessa Gavilsky leads the Hatters with five goals on the season while Heather Berg and Emily Ware have each added two goals apiece. Spearheading the defensive effort is goalie Andrea Garavaglia who has posted two shutouts this year and made 52 saves.
