JOHNSON CITY, TENN. Even 20 minutes of overtime couldn't
break the tie between Campbell and East Tennessee State as the two
teams played to a 0-0 tie.
Campbell moves to 3-6-3 on the year and 2-3-1 in league play. East Tennessee State is now
5-6-1 for the season and 3-2-1 in conference action.
The first half saw the Camels control the tempo as they held a 5-3
lead in shots. Campbell
also had three shots on goal in the half compared to only one for
the Buccaneer's.
The second half saw Campbell continue to produce quality scoring
opportunities as they had four shots on goal compared to three for
ETSU. The Bucs best scoring
opportunity of the afternoon came with just three minutes left in
regulation when Jordan Monty had a breakaway but goalkeeper Boomie
Luck was able to turn the shot away to preserve the shutout.
Overtime saw much of the same back and forth action with neither
team recording a shot in the extra time. East Tennessee State recorded the only
shot in the first overtime and neither team recorded a shot in the
second overtime.
Today's shutout was the third shutout of the season for Luck after
only having to save four shots. It was her second shutout in league
play after she posted a shutout in the 1-0 win over Lipscomb.
The Camels will return to action on Thursday night as they take on
Jacksonville. The match is
scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. in Jacksonville, Fla.
