CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Sophomore
Davy Sum led the Campbell University men's tennis team this past
weekend at the ITA Regionals in Chapel Hill to wrap up the fall
season.
Sum earned a first round
victory after knocking off Sander Gille of East Tennessee State,
6-2, 6-3 before falling in the round of 64 to Sebastian Jacques
from Virginia Tech, 7-6, 6-1. Sum concluded fall play with a 7-3
overall singles record.
Larbi Lamzouri and Lubos
Sobotka also competed in singles play for the Camels with both
dropping hard fought opening round matches.
Sum and Sobotka teamed to
compete in doubles action as they fell to Arsel Kumdereli and Orcun
Seyrek of UNC-Greensboro in first round play.
The Camels conclude fall
tournament play and will be back in action for the spring season
beginning in January.
