Head Coach Dale Steele
Opening
Statements
This has been a beneficial
week for us because we have had a chance to go back and work on
some fundamentals again. One of the issues you encounter through
the course of the season is that you don't get to work on some of
the smaller details. Having a week off before the Davidson game and
the week after off as well, we've had a chance to make sure we
become a more fundamentally sound football team. It also allowed us
to heal up, and to look at some different schemes.
We look forward to coming
home to Barker-Lane and playing Valpo. It should be an exciting
day. We're looking forward to playing again.
Valpo is a little bit like us
in that the injury bug has bit them in a lot of places and they've
had to play a lot of players.
On DL Jeremiah
Robinson
Jeremiah is a player that
came to us from the last recruiting class and sat last year because
of academic reasons. He didn't get to practice at all or do things
with us to get himself prepared, and therefore, he was behind
everyone else in his class.
He came in, played in some
spots for us early in the year, but he is now coming to the point
where he is understanding the scheme and becoming a football
player. He has made a tremendous amount of progress for us. We just
look for continued success from him.
On the Offensive
Line
The offensive line is such a
critical place because it is a necessity to play together. We've
been banged up at the position all year, and have not been able to
play together. We've had to move some people around until now,
where we actually have a healthy core.

On the Offensive
Line
We've come around over these
last two weeks. Coach Olejniczak has really stressed communication
and the message of playing together as one unit. By doing that,
we've come around and are confident with what we're going on the
field with.
On his Progress as a College
Football Player
I learn greatly from week to
week, and I feel like I still have a lot to learn. Just playing
against these juniors and seniors every week, I can tell they are
experienced players, and you can only get that from playing three
or four years.
Just being in a college
workout with a strength and conditioning coach of that level for
four years gives opposing players an advantage over me, and that's
something that will come to us as we work with Coach (Andrew)
Carter over the next few years, and next time, we can push them off
the ball.
