BUIES CREEK, N.C.-In its
final tune-up before the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association
Championships, Campbell will host Appalachian State in wrestling
action Wednesday night in Carter Gymnasium.
The Fighting Camels will head into Wednesday's
match at 2-21-1 after a pair of losses in Chapel Hill to North
Carolina and Duquesne, while the Mountaineers come to Buies
Creek at
13-7.
Senior
heavyweight Rob Yoder will wrestle his final match in Carter Gym on
Wednesday, taking a 12-22 overall record and a 7-17 dual mark into
the bout. Sophomore Kelin Bidelspach leads the way for CU, posting
a 21-8 record with five pins at 141 pounds. Jake Fose, a 157 pound
freshman, has managed a 14-18 so far this season, earning a 10-13
dual mark over his rookie campaign.
The
Mountaineers are paced by senior Scott Ervin ranked No. 12 in
the nation with a 32-5 record at 149 pounds, placing him
16th in the country for total victories. Senior Tommy Hutchinson also
ranks in at 16th nationwide with 12 pins on the season
at 165 pounds. Senior Terreyl Williams' 11 major
decisions are good for seventh in the nation.
After Wednesday's action, the Camels will take
just over a week to prep for the CAA Championships, set for March
7-8 in Hempstead, N.Y.
