BRASELTON, GA. Matt Moot was one of eight
players in the 50-man field to shoot par or better Tuesday and
Campbell University stands seven strokes off the team lead
Tuesday after 36 holes of the Atlantic Sun Conference men's golf
championship at the Chateau Elan Woodlands Course.
A freshman from Johnstown,
Pa., Moot had 16 pars, one bogey and a birdie on the par-4 12th
hole Tuesday in his even-par 71 round. He moved up six places on the leader
board into a tie for 10th place individually at four-over 146
(75-71) heading into Wednesday's final round.
Fellow Camel freshman Zak
Drescher leads the team at three-over 145 (72-73) following
Tuesday's plus-two 73 on the par-71, 6735-yard Woodlands layout.
The Landisville, Pa.,
product is in a tie for sixth place, nine strokes behind individual leader Gareth
Shaw of East Tennessee State (69-67136).
Oliver West of Kennesaw State
is second (72-68140), followed by Rhys Enoch of ETSU
(70-71141).
First-round leader Blake Palmer of Gardner-Webb followed Monday's
six-under 65 with a plus-six 77 Tuesday and dropped into fourth
place at even-par 142.
Defending champion East
Tennessee State moved into the team lead at 11-over 579 (292-287)
in the 10-school field, followed closely by North Florida
(293-287580), host Kennesaw State (296-285581) and
Campbell (294-292586). Gardner-Webb led the event following
Monday's even-par 284, but dropped to fifth place at 589 strokes
after a 21-over 305 Tuesday.
Campbell senior Fredric Sundberg is
tied with Moot for 10th place at 146 strokes after consecutive
73s. On Tuesday, Sundberg
played the front nine at four-over 40 before recording seven pars
and two birdies on the back side.
Junior Isak Pettersen is tied
for 28th place (74-79153), while sophomore Gregg Hostetter is
tied for 31st at 79-75154.
