JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- North Florida used an eight run fifth and John
Atteo threw a complete game four hitter to lift the Ospreys to a
9-2 series deciding A-Sun victory, Monday afternoon at Harmon
Stadium. Campbell falls to
11-20 overall with a 6-12 A-Sun mark, while North Florida improves
to 18-13 and 9-9 in the league.
Atteo (4-1) was pivotal in the success of North Florida picking up
his fourth victory of the season allowing just four hits in his
first complete game of the season. The sophomore from Lake Worth, Fla.
didn't strike out a batter.
Brandon Scott (1-2) was strapped with the loss after allowing four
runs over 4 1/3 innings of work. Scott, who held the Ospreys scoreless
for the first four innings, struck out five batters while walking
just two.
Graham Fronk led the Fighting Camels offense collecting two out of
the team's four hits.
Freshman Ellis Lowe extended his team-leading hitting streak to 14
games with a single to left field in the ninth inning.

Thompson put the Osprey on the scoreboard with a three run home run
- his first long ball of the season. Travis Martin, Andrew Hannon
and Michael Gropper all had multi-hit performances for North
Florida.
Campbell took advantage of two North Florida errors in the first
frame scoring a run to take a 1-0 lead, but the Ospreys countered
in the fifth with an eight run inning making the score 8-1. Eight out of nine batters in the
Ospreys' order scored in the inning, highlighted by a three run
homer to right field of the bat of Thompson. In addition, Andy Warren scooted a
bases loaded double down the first base line and Gropper picked up
two hits and an RBI in the inning.
The Ospreys extended their lead to 9-1 after scoring a run in the
bottom of the sixth. Chad
Knight led the inning off with a double and Travis Martin knocked
him in with his team-leading 31st RBI.
Lowe knocked in Gana, who singled to lead off the ninth inning, to
finalize the score at 9-2.
Campbell returns home to host the High Point Panthers tomorrow
(April 8) for a non-conference matchup. The first pitch is slated for 7
p.m.
