Women's Soccer Picked Ninth in Preseason A-Sun Poll

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Head Coach Todd Clark's squad has been chosen ninth in the Atlantic Sun Conference women's soccer preseason poll. The Camels went 1-14-2 during an injury plagued season last year to finish last in the conference.

Last years conference champions Kennesaw State was voted the top team in the league as they look to win the conference championship for the third straight season. They received all 11 first-place votes from the conference coaches.

This year's squad will be led by 15 returning letter winners, including seven starters. All five seniors on the team have lettered each of their three years at Campbell and look to play a significant role this season. The team will also consist of nine incoming freshman who will look to vie for playing time in their first year of collegiate soccer.

The incoming freshman class was recently ranked No. 22 in the region by SoccerBuzz.com. It was the highest ranked recruiting class in school history and the second straight season that Campbell has produced the second-highest ranked class in the conference.

The women's soccer team will kickoff their season this Saturday as they take on East Carolina in an exhibition. The game will start at 3:00 pm at Eakes Athletic Complex.
