Campbell (0-1-2) and Appalachain State (0-0-1) went scoreless in the first half after combining for only three shots in the half. The only scoring threat in the first half came for the Mountaineers when Casey Cleary ripped a shot that went off the crossbar just seven minutes into the game.

Jennifer MacNeil put the Mountaineers on the board first with a goal in the 54th minute. She was able to put the ball in the back of the net off of a cross from Stephanie Balzano to make it 1-0 in favor of the home team.
