BUIES CREEK, N.C. Campbell goalkeeper Boomie Luck was named
the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week after she put in a
stellar effort this past week.
The sophomore from Thomasville, N.C. started the week with a strong
effort against Gardner-Webb. With the Camels holding onto a 2-1
lead in the second half, Luck came up with two spectacular saves to
preserve the victory.
Minutes after the Runnin' Bulldogs got on the board Luck made a
diving save to keep the 2-1 lead. With just over a minute remaining Luck
made a one-handed diving save to push the ball over the
crossbar.
Luck turned in her second shutout of the season on Thursday night
against Lipscomb in the conference opener for the Camels. She turned away all seven shots
from the Bisons.
Luck and her fellow teammates return to action on Thursday night at
7 p.m. when they play host to Florida Gulf Coast at the Eakes
Athletic Complex.
