Camels make history Monday when Virginia Tech visits Buies
Creek for "White Out"
Campbell makes history on Monday when Virginia Tech visits the John
W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center / Gilbert Craig Gore Arena to mark
the first-time an Atlantic Coast Conference school has played the
Camels in men's basketball at Buies Creek.
A limited number of tickets are available for Monday's 7:00 p.m.
tip-off between the Camels and Hokies. If you can't make it to the
game, you may listen to the broadcast on WCLN 107.3 FM
(Fayetteville) or via a paid subscription through the Campbell
website (GoCamels.com).
Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game as the Camels attempt
to "White Out the Hokies" in conjunction with a promotion from the
Student Government Association and Sophomore Class.
CU Athletics and
Presidential Scholars Club join to support the Harnett County Food
Pantry
In a
joint effort, the Campbell University Presidential Scholars Club
and Department of Athletics have teamed to help stock the Harnett
County Food Pantry. Donations of non-perishable food items will be
accepted at the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center for Campbell
basketball games on Nov. 13, 16, 17 and 23, plus the CU football
game vs. Jacksonville on Nov. 21 at Barker-Lane Stadium.
On Friday, Nov. 27, the Department of Athletics will grant free
admission to anyone who brings two (2) non-perishable food items to
the Pope Center for the Atlantic Sun Conference basketball
doubleheader against North Florida. On Nov. 27, the Lady Camels
host UNF at 4:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 6:15.
All food and monetary donations will go directly to the Harnett
County Food Pantry. In addition to Campbell basketball and
football games during November, donations may also be made at The
Coffee Society on Marshbanks St. Food donations will also be
collected at all home men's and women's basketball games through
Dec. 21.
Campbell Basketball on WCLN 107.3 FM
Campbell University and the Christian Listening Network are in the
third year of an agreement for WCLN 107.3 FM to serve as the
flagship station for Fighting Camel men's basketball and football
on the Campbell University Radio Network. WCLN's broadcast signal
reaches parts of 21 counties in southeastern North Carolina
including all of Harnett, Cumberland, Johnston, and Sampson
counties. The station's signal also covers a majority of Wake
County, including a large portion of Raleigh. Campbell fans
outside the WCLN listening area are able to listen to audio
coverage of all Fighting Camels basketball broadcasts on the web at
www.GoCamels.com. Lady Camel broadcasts will also be available
through www.GoCamels.com.
