Women's Tennis Falls to East Tennessee State

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The East Tennessee State women's tennis team remained perfect in Atlantic Sun play as they shutout Campbell, 7-0, Friday afternoon at the Nisbet Tennis Center.

With the win, East Tennessee State improves to 6-4 (4-0 Atlantic Sun) on the season while Campbell falls to 9-6 (1-2 Atlantic Sun) on the year.

In doubles action, all three matches were close throughout as ETSU took all three matches by identical 8-6 scores.

The Lady Bucs took all six singles matches on the afternoon as they defeated Campbell in straight sets in each match. East Tennessee State junior Yevgeniya Stupak won her 18^th straight singles match as she defeated Blanca Saenz, 6-3, 6-1. Stupak is ranked number 109 in the latest ITA rankings.

Campbell freshman Borislava Nikolova lost her first Atlantic Sun singles match of the year as she fell to Tara Byrne, 6-0, 6-1, in the number two position.

Campbell will be back in action tomorrow as they host USC-Upstate beginning at 1p.m.
