Women's Tennis Drops Belmont, 6-1

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell University women's tennis team earned an impressive, 6-1, Atlantic Sun Conference victory over Belmont, Monday afternoon at the Nisbet Tennis Center.

With the victory, Campbell improved their overall record to 11-7 on the season while evening up their conference mark at 3-3. The loss dropped Belmont to 6-10 and 0-8 in conference play.

Campbell got off to a quick 1-0 start after winning two out of the three doubles matches on the afternoon.

Ana Surviladze and Cristina Garcia defeated Whitnie Warren and Tatiana Pozo in the number one position, 8-6. The Lady Camels clinched the doubles point after a victory from Blanca Saenz and Anais Gomar, 8-3, over Abby Leatherwood and Abigail Hogan.

In the singles portion of the match, Saenz earned her 11^th victory of the season as she defeated Warren, 6-0, 6-4.

Borislava Nikolova earned her team leading 12^th victory of the year by defeating Leatherwood in the number three position, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.

In the number four position, Cristina Garcia earned a straight set victory over Hogan, 6-2, 6-3. Gomar improved her singles record to 9-6 after defeating Lindsay Bennett, 6-2, 6-2 and Tanya Ahuja earned a victory over Lauren Irick, 6-2, 6-4.

The Lady Camels return to the courts on Friday as they travel to Jacksonville, Florida for an Atlantic Sun Conference match with North Florida. The match is set for 2 p.m.
