BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell University men's tennis team fell to Belmont, 2-5, in an Atlantic Sun Conference match Monday afternoon at the Nisbet Tennis Center.

The win improved Belmont's record to 10-6 on the year including a 4-3 mark in Atlantic Sun play. Campbell fell to 11-8 (3-3 A-Sun) on the season with the loss.

Belmont got off to a quick start in doubles competition as they won two of the three matches to take the early 1-0 lead.

Campbell earned their only victory in the number one position as Davy Sum and Lubos Sobotka defeated Fausto Rocha and Renato Antun, 8-3.

Sum continued his hot play in singles action as well defeating Javier Rodriguez, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, in the number one position. Sum is now an impressive 16-3 overall on the season.

Campbell's only other singles victory came in the number five position as Loukas Wallaart outlasted Renato Antun, 6-7, 6-0, 10-7 in a highly competitive match.

Campbell will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Jacksonville, Florida and take on North Florida beginning at 2 p.m.
